My tears flowed freely as I stood in front of the monitor at The Wife’s Level II ultrasound yesterday. Ten fingers and ten toes, spine perfect, fully formed lips and facial features, and– thanks to the unusual abilities of our beloved sonographer– a four-chambered heart with aortic arch evident. And when I stepped back away from the details, I saw a gorgeous baby who looks just like her big brother and sisters. My beloved.
That’s right… it’s a girl. It should be a fun ride with a house full of girls, and I couldn’t be happier or more relieved.
