A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of spending some time working with mahogany. This is a 2-piece cover over the pumps at the pool on the property at which I’m caretaker. (Wow, that was a very prepositional sentence!) I picked mahogany simply because it is very resistant to weather, and had planned to prime and paint it white for maximum durability. But when the piece was spotted by the homeowners, they loved it so much that they gave it a stay of execution. By now, it has about 6 coats of marine teak oil on it, and it makes me very happy when I walk by.
