What Just Happened?

November 14, 2008

If you’re in the middle of a conversation and the other person interrupts you to ask where you went to school, and you mention a place they’ve obviously never heard of, and if they then say, “Oh, you must be very well read– you speak well,” have you been insulted, or complimented?

Eh, be complimented. If you can go either way, choose the self-esteem boosting way… plus it’s unlikely they intended to insult you by saying you’re well read. ;^)

    oh thats a good one.

my favorite remark like that is: “only a fool would argue with that”.
