Taking in a photo essay from the singular Jon White, I feel torn. On the one hand, it is revisionist history at an extreme: Jon displays a blatant disregard for context, detail, dialog, and chronology. I mean, I am shocked to see a civil libertarian take such liberties with the facts. It is shameful, really.
Yet on the other hand, Jon’s twisted telling of the tale is clearly better than the actual event. I mean, I was there, and I didn’t laugh as hard or have as much fun as I did while perusing his gallery. Plus, he grabbed some priceless video of ‘Ella Elisabeth Stavlund’.
