Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Leftovers, Continued

December 12, 2007

(another Moleskine musing)

Orion looks down from the cool sky
timeless, purposeful warrior walking toward winter

And I’m walking, too
regular steps, with less purpose

I used to be pulled between death and life
now I’m pulled between life and life

Possibilities, potentialities, polarities
our world of options is a blessing and a curse

I want to do everything, but I don’t know where to start
still the clock ticks

I wish I had more than one life to live
parallel lives: a Swedish smörgåsbord

“Don’t be afraid of failure”, yes
but the stakes grow higher, year by year.

As the road stretching before me
shortens.

Life is like a roll of toilet paper.
The closer you get to the end.
    The faster it goes.
