Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Soularize, Day 1

October 25, 2007

Going to a beach on a private island was a genius way to start a conference, because it gets all of the nagging questions out of your head. You know, the ones that plague you during the plenary sessions of lesser gatherings:

Are Adam Klein‘s eyes bluer than the Caribbean?
What would Bishop NT Wright look like snorkeling over a coral reef?
Does Nick of the Nick and Josh Podcast like getting sand on his feet?
What would it be like to spread sunscreen on Dave Swanson’s back?

These and many more pressing concerns settled, I can concentrate on tonight’s event: music with Barry Taylor, a talk from Tom (as everyone seems to call him), and with Mark and Adam wearing their hats, I’m guessing we’re in for a little poetry.
