My body suspended
In 109 degrees of iron water
Steam curling up around my eyes
Cold air bites my face
Ears submerged
Listening to these living waters
Each body moving with those around it
Sharing this space with generations
Backed up against ancient rock
And incandescent intrusion
A cliff before me
And inky sky above
Pulled upward
Toward a million stars
Celestial bodies infinite
Vertigo turning until I close my eyes
Open again
I see slow, blinking lights
Moving across the foreground
Friends returning to life
