Our cleansing diet officially ended last week, and though we’re surprisingly hesitant to get back to our old eating habits, we did brew a pot of coffee last week (for our guests…). It wasn’t anything too fancy– some Starbucks Breakfast Blend that had been drying out in the back of the cabinet for well over a year. I’m sure the small cup I sipped was flat and acidic, but it tasted so rich and decadent that I could scarcely believe my tongue. It also gave me a huge rush, and I felt like a train clacketing over a rickety trestle. I’ve since switched to decaf, which gives me a buzz, but is more manageable. I can’t believe I used to drink at least two cups a day, and felt nothing.
