I hardly ever watch Dirty Jobs, so it was fortuitous that I was flipping around for a minute tonight and found the episode featuring a visit to my old bridge. Wow, was it ever moving. 200 feet down through one of the towers through cell after steel cell on an increasingly constrictive tunnel ladder, followed by a long walk up one of the main cables to change a navigation light at the top of one of the towers. Which is 552 feet above the water.
My sweaty palms are fogging up the keys as I write this. Ho-ho-lee Cow.

wow. I hear you on that. We must be related, or something..
Not only did Mike Rowe come to St. Ignace the same weekend you did, but he then went to Mackinac Island and filmed a bit over there. Give you one guess what the dirty job was.
My wife’s family was from St. Ignace.
