Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

If you pay careful attention when you dive into a pool, you can hear the splash your hands make when they strike liquid. Then there is a crash as your head tears into the surface, but you can still feel that your legs are dry. Then you feel the bubbles wiggle past your body before you are completely wet and gravity and sound are traded for weightlessness and silence. For a few seconds, there is peace and slowing motion as you arc back to the surface.

Nice piece! Stretching out a moment in time…
That’s not what it’s like when I (attempt to) dive: “hey, who tipped a Holstein into the pool?”
Then for (what seems like) several minutes, there is frantic, clawing motion as I search for the surface.
