Detox: It’s Alive!

August 31, 2007

I’ve always been a big fan of bread, and it is a good and helpful part of the cleansing diet. So I’ve been eating lots of almond butter sandwiches (breakfast), and hummus-with-tabouleh sandwiches (lunch), all on Ezekiel 4:9 Bread. This amazing stuff is delicious, and exceedingly nutritious. It is also absent any flour or preservatives, and made with sprouted grain. Which means it’s a petri dish in a plastic bag: I’ve thrown away more moldy bread in the past two weeks than I’d care to admit. I eat plenty, and I eat it quickly, but I just can’t stay ahead of the fungus. And when I try to buy more of it so that I don’t have to go to the store quite so often, it rots quicker than manna. I guess I can only get enough for today.

I hear ya! Actually, I keep mine in the freezer (sorry–I know your space is limited) and pull out a few slices to leave in the fridge each day. They actually only sell it frozen around here, so that’s where I got the idea. A few slices at a time is the only way I’ve found to live with the stuff.
    But, I do love it!
