Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Brighter Smile

May 25, 2007

The Girlie is filling out her smile with a couple of new teeth on the bottom, and she’s not too happy about it. Poor kid is chewing on everything, and intermittently hollering about the pain, which must be pretty bad. Oh, and in spite of the Tylenol, she’s also decided that midnight to 3am would be a dandy time to scream, talk, play, and just generally bounce around, which pleases her mother and I greatly.

I yawned so big and so long this morning that the world tilted and I had to catch my balance. Pass the coffee.

Elias has learned how to stand up in his crib. Actually sleeping in his bed is now a thing of the past. I have to put him down completely unconscious or he will, despite being near delirium, insist on taking himself to task with his new skill. World-tiliting exhaustion, here I come.

Ella, welcome to the world of we who chew before swallowing. We are happy to have you. Don’t worry– the initial hazing will be brief. Hang in there, all.

Ah yes, Miranda did the 12pm-3am thing from about 5 1/2 to 7 months. We thought we would go insane, just insane. Hang in there, and laugh when you can!
