Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Cheapskate Wednesday

March 28, 2007

Since I paid five bucks for a three-day pass to Great Falls yesterday, you had better believe I spent four bucks worth of gasoline to drive back out there today to see it all over again. Ella and I walked the length of the amazing Potowmack Canal (George Washington apparently had a flair for marketing, as well as making war), taking in this engineering marvel of the 18th century, and its inspiring craftsmanship which remains to this day.

Hey! We were there too! From about 5-7. Too bad we missed you guys! We were even more cheapskatey – we parked at the park next door (Riverbend, where Tina works and the parking is free even if you don’t work there) and walked to Great Falls. :-)
