Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Running and Recovering: What’s Running?

February 17, 2007

A couple of days ago, I started to think about running clothes in preparation for my big run on Sunday. It is supposed to be bitterly cold and windy, so I wanted to make sure that my A-team gear was clean. As is the case in such situations, I simply went to the basket of dirty clothes to fish out the stuff I would need, so that I could clean it. And found absolutely nothing. Nada, zip, zilch. Pondering this, I realized that I couldn’t actually remember the last time I went running– my memory banks were only yielding images like snow, ice, bitter cold, a weekend away, lots and lots of meetings, and extreme busyness.

So I guess I’ll be gutting out my 9+ miles, then trying not to freeze to death while I wait for my (much faster) teammates to finish out the 26.2. But man, is that T-shirt gonna be sweet…
