The Girl is crawling everywhere, trying to figure out how to walk, and showing off her toothy grin. She’s also learned to wave– both with the popular parade-style sweep as well as the more challenging fingers-to-palm move– and she is practicing on anyone who will cast their eye in her direction (and many who don’t). Also, in a demonstration of her familiarity with ancient Hebrew, she has begun calling me ‘Abba’, rather than the more pedestrian ‘Dad’, ‘Daddy’, or ‘Papa’. (Actually, the transliteration of the whole sentence would probably be: ‘babaabba wa-ba wamama babababa; aaahh-aab’.)

I’m not at all certain, but it occurs to me that that might actually be Arabic, not Hebrew. Jackie? A little help here?
Oh my sweet baby girl! Cover her with kisses from me.
I thought maybe Aramaic…but pick that brilliant little girl up and don’t let her cry! She sure has good genes! We love her so much! Nana
Aramaic.
Lou liked this picture.

Yes indeed, Mike, “baba” is Arabic for father. Seems like she’s picked up some Arabic in addition to her Hebrew.
Showed the pic to Frank and of course, all he asked is…”where’s her hair?”

Father of the Girl
My first thought is of the cold wooden floor-BRRRRRRR! The Girl will always “appreciate” sharing the bare butt pic with the world! She’ll be getting beautiful curly “locks” very soon.

She really looks like her cousin Lily here. Not that I’ve ever seen Lily upset…
