Running three laps around Hains Point at 7:30 on a Wednesday morning can feel a bit like a waste of time. Until you see two other guys doing the same three laps, going the other way. Except that they are in a Park Service truck, napping or talking on cell phones, and undoubtedly on the clock. Then, doing this for free feels like a waste of my life.
And then, I get a Christmas card from Kelsey, who’s working in Darfur with Tearfund. She makes me wonder if everyone in the States might be wasting their life.

Abandoning my role as staunch defender in this instance, I have to agree with Liz. But I do know how you feel…I’ve felt that way many a time. However, I’ve come to think that raising children is quite a high calling, if I do say so myself.
Two years ago I took as seat at a desk to try to start a small business – I’m just now coming up for air.
