Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

January 11, 2007

Off to Iowa with the girls in the morning. I’m not as nervous about the traveling this trip, since Ella has been such a champ in that department. I am, however, a bit worried about the events of the weekend. I’m hoping that I don’t actually bust any buttons when my Sister receives her Master’s Degree, and that I don’t embarrass her or her friends at the party afterward. I’m also hoping that my arm remembers how to throw a nice spiral to my nephew Jake, and that I’ll get to see my nephew Caleb’s new .22 rifle (which he paid for himself, with the money he made on his own trapline).

Trapline, wow that is really cool! I was a miserable failure at my own attempt back when I was avidly reading “Where the Red Fern Grows” and “My Side of the Mountain.”
