I’ve always thought of my sister as slightly superhuman, and so it seemed fitting today to see her receive her cape as a part of the conferral of her Master’s in Education from Graceland University (which, I was relieved to learn, predates the less informed and more gaudy house in Memphis, Tennessee). Aunt Pammy’s hair was perfect, she was beautiful (as always), the day featured a light dusting of snow, and her adoring fans gathered around her to cheer her on. The hoots from her family’s section must have been a bit embarrassing, but she took it all in stride.
And now, nine hours later, my grin of pride is still beaming away. She’s quite a woman, my sister.
