We spent yesterday at the Hospital for Sick Children, enjoying a picnic of fried chicken indoors with Nana and Bampa (there were waves of rain pounding on the window, so it was a bit more triumphalistic than depressing). Bampa flew up on Sunday, and they’re driving home later today, and we’re going to miss them tremendously, even as we look forward to the challenge of moving ahead with a little less support. To wit, our scheduled overnight on Thursday. HSC has a couple of apartments for overnight stays, where patients and families can get away from the medical staff, without going too far. So we’ll probably be up all night taking care of Will, but we’re excited about the very first chance for all four of us to spend some private time together. Should be fun.
