Good writing, with a strong point and with life oozing out.

Open Letter to the Person With My Laptop

May 23, 2006

My friend says you’re chatting with him right now, and if you’re reading this, I just want to appeal to you. Please, please, please. That laptop contains my photos of the birth and life of my two-week old twins. And the open-heart surgery of my son, who’s in the Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital as I write this.

I’m just desperate to get them back, and so I’m begging you to somehow allow me to get those photos back. I know they can’t mean much to you, but they mean everything to me. Please.

  1. Mir and I have googled ‘imprecatory prayer,’ and we’ve been praying for a transforming imprecatory experience – if such a thing exists.

That’s terrible. Also must strike you as kind of strange with that whole computer theft thing involving the VA going on… Hope you get it back.
