Stop and Smell The Roses

January 25, 2006

This weekend, our church sent us flowers: four snapdragons, encircled by many, many yellow roses. A beautiful reminder that we are surrounded by friends.

Indeed. We’ve been inundated with thoughtful emails, blog comments, phone calls, projects, listening ears, home visits, “American Idol” viewing parties, and badass blog comments defenders. People near and far to cry, question, laugh, wonder, and wait with us.

In the past, difficult times have felt quite lonely. But this time, the path ahead seems well-populated. Crowded, even. Which is nice.

Ooh, ooh, I’ve always wanted to be called a badass, especially by someone as cool as Mike Stavlund! :)

You two give and give, I’m glad you’ve got some people there giving back. Love to you.
