A lifelong dream came true today when I donned a hairnet, gloves and apron and took my place on the line in the kitchen. Our church made kabobs, rice, salad and strawberry dessert for the folks at a local transitional housing complex. It was really nice to bring good, healthy food to these folks who are working hard at making major changes in their lives.
But the best thing was to see just how much hope and joy and zest for life there was at this cafeteria which might be sad and depressing. It was really an honor to meet these fine people.
